How many participants can perform in a group?

• Minimum of 2 participants
• Maximum of 10 participants

What are the age groups for the competition?

What if a performance has different age groups?

• If a group has performers from multiple age groups, please submit the entry in the category based on maximum age of the performers. Please note older age kids cannot participate in the younger age groups.
• Sub-Junior participants may perform in junior group.  However junior participants cannot perform in Sub-Junior groups.
• Junior participants may perform in senior groups.  However senior participants cannot perform in junior groups.
• Final determination of the age group will be made by the organizers in case of any confusion.

What language do the performances have to be in?

The songs for Folk and Film singing and dancing will have to be in Telugu language only. The songs for classical category should also be in Telugu

Can a participant perform in multiple categories?

Yes, a participant may perform in multiple categories. Separate registration is needed for each category. A participant may perform only once in a specific category.

Are there any time limits for performances?

Time limit for Classical items is 6 minutes. Time limit for all other items is 4 minutes. TIME LIMIT IS STRICTLY ENFORCED.

Is ATA membership required to participate in the competition?

ATA membership is (not) required to participate in the competitions.

Is there an entry fee for the competition?

Can online auditions be submitted?

No. All performances will be judged live during the competitions.

Will there be multiple rounds for the competition?

There will only be one round for the preliminary competition to determine the participants in the finals. All performances will be judged based on specific criteria. The teams that will participate in the finals will be determined by the scores they get in the preliminaries. Winners (1st only) will get a chance to compete in the finals.

When will the finals be scheduled?

Finals are scheduled to be during the ATA Conference from July 1st -3rd, 2016 in Chicago.

Is registration required for finalists?

All the winners who will be participating in the FINALs will be given free entry to conference. Parents however will have to register for the regular conference prices.

What is the cutoff date to determine participant’s age exactly?

July 1st. For example if the participant has 8th birthday on or after July 1st, he/she should fall under sub- junior category.

Can a participant participate in different age groups?

Participant can only participate in one age group and can participate in either classical or movie category. But cannot participate in 2 different age groups.

The Organizers are not responsible for any loss or physical injury that occurs to the contestant on account of their participation in the event. The applicant will participate at his/her own risk and can have no claim against ATA/SyeATAin any regard.

Applicants must agree to abide by all the rules, as changed from time to time by the Organizers. SyeATA Organizers or ATA is not responsible for the promises (such as recognition and awards by celebrities) as things might change on the fly and might go beyond our control.

To encourage Telugu kids and culture, we would like to have majority of the Telugu kids participating in these competitions. For solo singing, participant has to be Telugu origin. For group dancing, we would allow 1 or 2 non Telugu origin folks if group size is more than 6.
